Holiday Card Out-Takes 2009: The Most Awesome Photos We Could't Send

Last year, we put up a post about Holiday Card Out-Takes. You know, the photos that we parents take of our kids before we get that one perfect picture: when their eyes are closed, or they’re crying in Santa’s lap, or they’re pulling their brother’s hair—the ones we just couldn’t send out on a holiday photo card, but that are too fantastically deliciously adorable to keep to ourselves!

Don't keep those pictures tucked away. Share them with your Sprout for Parents friends!  After all, who better than fellow parents to appreciate the joys (and misery!) of a family photo session?

So take this opportunity to post the best photos you couldn’t send, but that you’ll pull out when your kids are 30 to embarrass them with! I'll share mine--just as soon as I'm organized enough to take a holiday picture. --Diana

Amy--I feel your pain! It took me a few tries to get my photo up. I checked with my tech team to see if you were having the same trouble that I was and it looks like you probably are. Here's what I heard from experts:

"It seems that folks are trying to post photos that are private and that won't work. Even My Refrigerator photos can not be posted as they are not public photos. When looking for the image properties on a public photo, a users should right click on the photo and you can get the path to the image that way."

I hope this helps you sort this out. If you want to post your pictures here, put them in the Sprout Sharing Gallery first. That's definitely a public site.

We took our pictures this weekend. Adding our new dog to the mix definitely didn't make this any easier. But this "outtake" sort of says it all. My oldest was puttin on his game face, my middle was irritated with her tights and my youngest was over the whole thing. And the dog...well, it's hard to keep a good dog down!
